The auxiliaries below, along with the Choirs, Hospital Ministry and others, provide the framework for an effective entrance into our community. Of paramount importance, however, is the rebirth of souls into the body of Christ.
We pray that the LORD will continue to direct our paths as we
labor in the vineyard.
Youth Department
This was organized with a team of advisors, officers and group leaders who are responsible for the running of the department for periods of time called "terms". At the conclusion of each term a special "End of Term" service is held where the groups compete for prizes in offerings and Bible quiz points. The Youth Department also provides a vital place for young men and women to develop their spiritual and natural gifts in a God-glorifying way.
To build leadership skills in our youth, and to foster good inter-personal relationships, the department has launched programs such as Big Brother/Little Brother and Big Sister/Little Sister. These programs have been expanded to the wider community where, additionally, the Youth Department has held services at the Spartan Juvenile Facility in the Bronx, sponsored annual camping trips to widen the perspective of City youths and, under the auspices of the Junior Missionary Department, distributed toys to hospitalized children during the Easter and Christmas Seasons.
Not forgetting the youngest members of the Youth Department, the "Future Generation" subdivision was formed to concentrate on the needs of those as young as 3 years old. Here these young people are ministered to on their level and are encouraged to grow at their pace. A mentoring program, fostered in "adoptive" grandparent/grandchild relationships allows children and seniors to get the special attention they need. Many of the activities and services done through the vehicle of Future Generation are coordinated by teenagers.
The Brotherhood Department
This department is organized with a team of officers to ensure the smooth running of the department. Each year the department sponsors an Annual Brotherhood Banquet and this continues to be one of the main social highlights of the year. In addition to the local congregation, attendees at the banquet are drawn from many churches as well as the community. One major activity which shows the heart and caring of the Brotherhood Department, is the "Home-Fix-Up Program" through which single women and the elderly can arrange to have repairs done around the home free of charge.
Missionary and Women's Departments
In addition to conducting departmental services and fund-raising programs, these departments also have established agenda whereby visits are made to homeless shelters where residents are fed and clothing distributed. Members of the departments have also been instrumental in collecting and shipping clothing to alleviate the suffering of disaster victims overseas and in helping seniors, the sick and those confined in their homes. Afternoon services are also held at local nursing homes on a monthly basis. These departments have also sponsored visits to affiliated churches to conduct outreach sessions and to foster spiritual growth. In helping to meet physical needs, the Missionary and Women's Departments have held many health seminars dealing with issues important to women. Professionals in the medical field have been invited to address these issues and the seminars are always open to the community without charge.
Home and Foreign Missions
Our church is involved in many outreach projects. Our goal is to reach the "world one person at a time" through hot meals, clothing and financial support and discipleship. We have established churches throughout the world in the following countries: England, Canada, Liberia, Wales, India, Trinidad, Nevis, Jamaica and across the United States.
We trust that you will not feel alone but realize that you are exposed to large body of believers.
Sunday School
The purpose of the Sunday school is to train and give clarity to The Word of God. Our aim is to help each person become disciplined students of The Word of God...having the ability to apply it to every aspect of their lives.
Children's Ministry
The need to train and develop our children cannot be over emphasized. Every segment of our society is focusing on young people for one reason or the other. The Church of Jesus Christ considers this our priority. If you have young children, grandchildren, children of your neighbor, please bring them or tell us how we can get them. We like the opportunity to have an everlasting influence in their lives.
